I had the same problem some years ago. I was given a tablet called 'Clomad' I hope the spelling is right. You can only stay on them for 3 months. I got pregnant on my 3rd month. You could ask your Dr. if you would be suitable for you. I had been trying for 10 months & was so delighted. I hope you are successful.

You sound like me and it is very frustrating. I didn't think it would be a problem, doh!, and bought a thermometer and home ovulation test sticks but after a few months realised I wasnt getting any signs of ovulating. Thought I must have been doing something wrong so went to see my GP. He referred me to a specialist. Turns out it is very common for people with irregular cycles not to be ovulating! I wish I had known that at the time as I wouldn't havr waited so long to see doc. Now on a drug to control my cycle and hopefully make me ovulate. Now been over a year since me and hubby started trying and this is the first month on this drug. Best advice is dont waste time. If you are unsure of anything go see your GP. I wish you lots of luck!

Hi there,
When you next cycle begins - take day 1 as the first day of bleeding) start taking your temp. First thing in the morning before you even step out of bed. Use a therm that goes to 2 decimal places. Chart your temp. At the same time from day 5 of cycle start doing OV Tests - keep 5 days so you can compare them.
When you see a surge (dark red second line, as dark or darker than control line) you will know that you will ovulate within the next 12-48 hours. Start the Baby Dance as soon as you see this.
To confirm ovulation you will need to continue charting your temp - after ovulation your temp will raise by around 0.2 of a degree and remain higher for a least 3 days. If you continue to temp you will see that the temp stays high throughout the second part of your cycle and will drop either the day before, day of or the day after your new cycle begins.
On your next cycle you will only need to start doing OV tests from around day 10 until you see ovulation.
If after 3 months you do not see any Ovulation pattern go and see your GP who will do blood work to assess what is going on - don't take NO for an answer from him!!.
Best of luck with TTC
Regards
Jo

You need to stop relying on the fallacy that all women ovulate on day 14 of their cycle.
Get hold of a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Wechsler. It explains how to observe your body signs and chart your basal body temperature (BBT) every day to tell when you have ovulated. Your body can give you the information, you don't need to spend money on expensive ovulation kits.
If your cycles are very irregular I would think its unlikely you have endometriosis - I have that and it does not cause irregular cycles, just painful and heavy periods. But you might have another hormonal condition like PCOS which can cause sporadic ovulation. This can be regulated with drugs like Clomid.

That was me, and it was very hard to do. All I can say is write it down every month and see if you can detect a pattern. Mine would go 28 days one month and then 58 days and then 33 days, etc.. it was impossible to predict. We just gave up on all birth control and figured it would happen when it happened, but I have heard that some women have had success with charting their temperature or using an ovulation kit. Good Luck!

I would chart your basil body temperature daily. You can buy a bbt thermometer at Walmart for about $10. Take your temp every morning before getting out of bed and chart it. You can chart your temps for free at fertilityfriend.com. You can also record other ovulation signs, like cervical fluid, etc... Based on the info you enter, it will tell you when you ovulate.
You can also buy an ovulation kit (Clear Blue Easy Kit is about $20 for 7 tests). It will tell you when to start testing based on the average length of your cycle. You can test anytime of day, but it's best to use your first morning urine. When it turns blue, you are ovulating.

The best way to do it is this. Trust me on it because I took the wheel from the doctors office when I was trying to concieve my daughter. (it worked). On the day you get your period, mark it on the calender. From that first day, count 14 days. On the fourteenth day, wait until your temp is highest and the have sex!!! I promise it will work. Please let me know. Good luck. The wheel that the doctor uses produced these results for me.

I think if you haven't done so yet is to start charting your BBT. That will help you alot to determine when you're fertile or not. Also don't forget to check your CM through out the day to see if you have any eggwhite CM. If you need help go to www.fertilityfriend.com and that will help aso. Good Luck on conceiving.

Just every 28 days jam an oil stick up yourself. Pull it out and see if it's full or needs to be changed.
