As I have gotten a few answers before, here is a more depth situation...... What are the procedures for extradition from Ohio going back to Texas on a warrant? This is njot fleeing police. It was not know of the arrest warrant. Someone I know just got arrested last Wed. and never had a court appearance yet. Noone knows anythig. All cops have a differnt version, but nothing is being done right now. Does anyone know the time frame for extradition of a inmate? I know there is so much time for the police to come and get him. This is such a bogous charge. Nothing makes sense anymore. So it has been a week and still no court appearance. Sorry to get so personal, but I need some concrete evidence on these procedures.
Thank you so very much.

It can take several days or, more commonly several weeks. Or months if there is a dispute as to the identity of the person and the validity of the charges.

Unless an experienced senior lawyer specializing in criminal law does a deal and recommends it, DO NOT WAIVE EXTRADITION.

To do so, also waives many defences, including that you are not the person being sought because you are a victim of identity theft!

And, DON'T POST DETAILS on the Internet. The prosecution knows how to use Google.

My boyfriend just got extradited from California to Ohio. He had been in L.A. County jail 3 weeks not knowing what was going on. He finally was scheduled for court on 9/7 but on 9/5 at 6:00 a.m. he was woken up and taken to the airport without ever knowing he was going anywhere. I doubt if you will get any concrete evidence. All I got was frustrated! Good Luck

I did not think they could hold someone without an arraignment, even with extradition. I know it is expensive but I think an attorney is needed. How about a public defender if the person in jail is eligible? Unless an attorney from Ohio or Texas answers you on Yahoo, I don't think you will get much help without an attorney of your own.

It does sound bogus to me too.

Good luck. It is nice of you to want to help your friend.

if the state doesn't feel like the cost of extradition is worth it, they might not bother.
if he was picked up in ohio for something he did in ohio then he can pay his dues to that state before being extradited.

Time to call an atty; sounds a little too serious to be messing around with.
