oh..i know that when my daughters say give me 5 mins mom..it is usually an hour

The "just 5 more minutes" usually means I don't have time for you right this minute but I will later after I finish what I want to do. That means it may take all day go away and leave me alone for at least 5 minutes.

i have encountered experiences where i had to wait for more than 20 minutes even though the person said they would be back in '5 minutes'.

hmm... the phrase "Just 5 minutes" can be anywhere from 5 minutes right up to 1 hour, my boyfriend could answer this best i use it all the time...lol

when you are doing something you enjoy then it's short but if you are late or stuck in some boring meeting then it starts looking like 10 minutes.
