i think france is the only team which could beat new zealand in 2007, what do u think ?

The Aussies will always fancy themselves against any team especially NZ in the world cup finals. I think England have too much catching up to do in this coming season to be able to retain the cup but they should be competing better and probably reach the semis. France have the potential to win and will be hard to beat at home but they will need a lot of confidence from this seasons 6 nations. SA will be hard to beat but are definitely beatable by all the top nations. Even tho they still look impressive NZ do tend to reach their peak before the world cup tournaments.
Realistically Wales, Scotland, Ireland and maybe Argentina cannot hope for much more than a quarter final exit.

My prediction : France to win (unfortunately)

Keep in mind all of the rotation of players the All Blacks have been doing all year to build depth in the team. We have yet to see the full power if an All Blacks best team with a few games together under their belt. I think France is good, but will be shocked by the strength of the southern Hemisphere teams over the next year. I feel that Aus and SA are a lot stronger than they have been given credit for over the past couple of months and will have good chances.

We also have to see if Jona Lamu's dream of playing on the ABs by next year comes to pass (and how well he is still playing)

England is doing a lot of talk of rebuilding, but is a little late in the game for talk.....there needs to be action - NOW - and they have a remote chance of building another strong team...

I JUST DON'T THINK FRANCE IS AS STRONG AS THEY ARE BEING MADE OUT TO BE.

All Blacks line out is really shaky right now, and i dont think they can win if they consistantly lose line out ball. The Aussies are the team with the best chance to take NZ right now, but if SA or France have a good game and catch NZ on a bad day, they can too

No. You have to look at the mental make up of a side aswell.

I think Australia have the best chance. SA perform well at home, and thats about it. (lost all tri nations games on the road for a while now.., their super 14 teams cannot win on the road enough)

Australia do not look like winning a world cup now, but they didn't in the lead up to 91 and 99 either. They have the ability to really raise their game.

New Zealand kinda choke at world cups too..

Aussies can still do it. New Zealand get, I dunno, they get all weird at World Cups, too much pressure. I think South A. have a chance too, they beat the Kiwis and I think they lost all those other games because South A. didn;t want all the pressure of being no. 1 in the World Cup. But definetly don't rule out the Aussies, we always strike back!:)

Nah alot of teams could win the World Cup. You should wait until after the Autumn friendlies to see how the European teams do against N.Z., Aus and the Boks.

Never write off the Aussie's they always seem to come good and NZ always seem to struggle during the worldcup. France are a quality side, but i would obviously love to see England retain it not much chance of that though!
