I would like The Guillemots to win it, more than likely though it'll be someone that
a) no one knows
b) is an urban act (regardless of the talent - which basically means Sway who I think is useless)
It would be nice to see the prize go to someone who actually deserves it
As much as I like muse, I dont think they should win as they have been commerically viable for years, and even said in an interview at Glastonbury they dont need the £20,000 prize
I think Arctics do deserve it as well through what they've achieved this year in bursting onto the music scene, but I doubt they will win it due to the hype surrounding the band now. Which is a shame
But Guillemots all the way!! The album is fresh, exciting and Innovative, isnt that what the Mercury Music Prize is supposed to be about?

I'm hoping for Richard Hawley - magnificent album, great live performer,..... and I have 25 quid on him to win. However, I fear the panel are going to bow to the pressure of being renowned for NOT giving it to the 'hot band of the year' and go for the Arctic Monkeys (who in my humble opinion aren't even the best band in Sheffield at the moment)

Hopefully muse. they deserve to win the award but the judges will try for shock value more than likely, so expect the unexpected. it won't be the arctic monkeys even though the album is awesome as well.

I reckon it'll be the Guillemots, but I'd rather it was Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanagan.

Some middle ranking non entity who will have 5 seconds of fame and then return to obscurity where they probably belong.
