I noticed the pain about two years ago but it didn't bother me too much and so I forgot about it totally. In these last two years it has gotten much worse and at times, a little scary. It's usually after I've done something strenuous but it seems to be getting more painful. I've been told it was a hernia. It is ...well, in my pubic area and I get like a painful balloon under the skin that I can push back into a hole or something. When it scares me the most is when it sort of, goes into my scrotum. Thats when I am forced to lie down and massage it until it disappears again. Recently it has been more frequent and sometimes burns a little so I think it may be more serious than I originally thought. Whats going on ? Is it dangerous ? What can be done about this problem ? Can it be fixed or am I finished. Save the nut jokes. Thanks.

Definitely sounds like a hernia. Go to a doctor---the abdominal muscles can easily be repaired.
It is dangerous to leave a hernia untreated. The little balloon you feel is your intestines coming through a weak area in your abdomen. With a simple surgery, this can be repaired, and after you recover, you will be just fine.
Don't be embarrassed---for one thing, it has nothing to do with your testicles, and for another, a doctor isn't weirded out by anything. Please, go see a doctor as soon as you can.

Go see a doctor and get a referral to a surgeon.

These things are easily repaired with surgery.

In the meantime there are special belts you can buy from the chemists which can compress the hernia and keep it in place (with variable degrees of success) while waiting for the surgery.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, hernias can give rise to a bowel obstruction. This is uncommon, but it does happen occasionally.

Remember when you took a garden hose and kinked it off so the water didn't flow out. Imagine if the hernia kinked off your bowel like that. The pressure would build up (your tummy gets big and tense and quite sore!) and nothing would come out the end of the hose (ie. constipation) and also the water coming from the tap would be blocked (usually people vomit)

If this happens - go to the Emergency Department of a Hospital straight away.

Otherwise you can just go see your doctor as usual.

U need to get operated soon. In time it may become dangerous. The hernia might become trapped and a serious infection will occur, and that can lead to death. I suggest you go to the doctor, usually the operation is easy and the next day you're out of hospital. If the hernia is in early stages then laser surgery is used and recovery is fast. The surgery involves the doctor putting a nylon mesh over the affected area.

It can definitely be treated, but you should go to a doctor as soon as possible. Don't be embarassed - it's not very unusual. Trust me - getting rid of the pain is well worth the little bit of embarassment of having a doctor look at it.

U probably have a variocele which is a bag of fluid that was present when you were born but was not papable. See a urologist and he can drain it so it does not bother you any more. U need to see the urologist to make sure what it is and have it taken care of.

This is not unusual - get it checked out by a doctor and corrected. It can cause major problems with your bowel if you don't fix it. It is no big deal to have repaired.

You should see a doctor and get it repaired. It can become choked off and become like appendicitis and you'll be in big trouble. Get it fixed before you get complications.

oh yea...a hernia...
i had one too.

It is fixable.
A little surgery to repair the perforation and you're back on your feet.

The bad news is...you'll be mad at yourself for not doing it sooner.

oh...yeah it can be dangerous if it gets infected.
