the terminology mostly... Basically when u look at the sky u see a part of space.. a Tiny Fraction of it.. The word "sky" is used to describe the "space" above us.. Clouds in the sky, birds flying in the sky etc. BUT! You can also say "the star in the night sky" even though the star is in space... So u see it's just a term used for an observable part of everyday's space..

Originally "Sky" (from Old Norse) meant cloud. Therefore the meaning has changed with time to include the direction toward the clouds as in "look up in the sky" (in the clouds?). Outer space is always "up" but up from a sphere like the earth is only one of infinite points of view. Flying around in the sky is taken even today to mean amongst the clouds whereas flying around in space implies travel between earth and the moon and maybe Mars. Perhaps future travelers will refer to the earth's sky but the universe's space as to primary ownership. The possibilities are sky-high, right?

the gravitational pull. like on earth you stay on the ground but in space you float around. you also are open to harmful UV raysin space which earth's atmosphere protects us from. space has pure oxygen in the atmosphere too where as earth has carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which is produced by our trees. there is so much i could say but i'd be here all night
