Change your home page and close explorer. Open explorer again and you should get a Norton message that there has been an attempt to change your home page. Accept the new page and your problem should be fixed. This is part of the Norton package.

Hmm, firstly, find out what is attacking your computer.
Step 1: Check your system processes
Check out which processes are eating up your computer resources: assuming that you're using Windows XP, do a Ctrl-Alt-Del. That should open up "Task Manager". Select the tab, "Processes", and check whether there are mysterious ".exe" files. Some might be the ones attacking your system.
I would highly recommend Perxv1, to remove your spyware:

I think they have a trial period of 30 days, so that's better than not having one at all : )

While AVG is an excellent anti-virus program that you should install on your PC, it will nor clean this becasue it is not a virus, it is spyware.
Check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.

hi, that maybe a virus, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.
i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

You need to download "hijackthis", and can find that by just searching through yahoo or google.
Your next best bet (since this place isn't setup well for this), is to post the logfile generate by hijack this on a internet forum, where people who know what to delete using hijackthis (don't use it if you don't know what you're doing with it), can assist you.

If you are advanced user you may try try to track wich processes are running after your Windows startUp, use TaskManager.. there you may find suspicious processes, like XXX_named or with some numerals in the names, try kill them and cleanUp your startUp list (use RegCleaner).
Still no results .. then it's in services.. and you need to investigate there
