There are lots of different types of modelling. Glamour requires curvy, pamela anderson type figure. Fashion models must be 5'7 at least, and be size 8, preferably a 4 or 6. For more information on types of modelling and what they look for visit this site:http://www.modelingadvice.com/Intro.html

Remember though, it's not just how you look. There are pretty girls in every shopping mall willing to model for next to nothing. A model is paid to be professional, make the photographer's job easier and get the job done as quickly as possible (because renting the studio costs the photographer money). A model should be friendly, polite, and able to work the camera.

tyra banks says that the average model is almost 6 feet tall and weights only 120 lbs. unless you ahve good genes and you are naturally on the "thin" side and have a small bone structure then it's safe. most models starve themselves though and develop eating disorders. curvier women seem to do lingerie just liek victoria secret models. yes their skinny but they dont look liek stick thin skeleton with no secondary sex characteristic (breasts and hips) with long hair.

im not sure about the measurements but for the face you cant just "look pretty" you need to have a look that is of the average pagent girl or something. you have to have somehwta of an exotic look to you.

From what my niece told me, they are looking for all types of people to model. When she started, she was 14 & had to be a certin height & weight. Now they understand that there are all kinds of body image issues, created by the media.
So... give it a try, ya never know you could be the next big thing.

There's a certain type of face which is completely distinctive and overpoweringly beautiful - high cheekbones, eyes are wide apart and big - the look is 'exotic' - these women are so beautiful that they are never seen in real life. Body figure happens to vary - what I've noticed they choose mostly, however, is extraordinarily long legs and wide shoulders.
