blinking just like people with two eyes, winking is a purely voluntary happening, while blinking is involuntary, you can't not blink, no matter how hard you try you eventually will, and you do it as a reaction to something coming close as well.

Blinkin is a reaction. You blink to Lubricate your eye and clean it among different causes. Winking is a few thing that you purposely do for even with the reality that reason ie showing that you want someone and so on and so on

i think you are blinking, if you are doing the automatic thing for eye lubrication etc. a wink seems more intentional to me.
