First, stay away from poetry.com. It is just a scam to get people to buy copies of their overpriced "anthologies" which basically contain every poem that they can get people to pay to see in print. This leads to a lot of bad poetry on their site.
I'd suggest checking out www.writing.com as a place to both read poetry and post your own writing if you have the inclination. It's a very friendly environment, where you can get great feedback and read other promising writers. I've had a lot of fun on this site, and gotten helpful advice on my own poems and stories.

I detest poetry due to there being so many bad sites. Open your own, send me the address and then i will let you know what i think. The sonnets are great and i do enjoy the old ones, so not a total block head

I don't like poetry.com because you can submit anything and they will tell you its great then try to sell you a book with your poem in it. I'm sure there are better sites out there.

poetry.com....coz i once submitted some of my poems n one of them was selected for the publication in the book and composition for a song. the books name was 'The Silence Within' and the poems name was 'You and I'.
