Actually our present is the sum total of historical knowledge, achievement and accumulation of the past. World without knowledge of the past would be a chaotic one, devoid of civilisation. The seeds of the present lie in the past ; similarly the fruits of tomorrow lie in the seeds of today. our present action will lay the foundations for the coming generation. the past present and future are thus interrelated.

The past made the present, in the present we are making the future. The future will be past soon.

The real question is, do any of them really exist, or is there an illusion of time, while in truth there is only stasis?
The past can be forged (we only have memory to go on and memories can be falsefied)
We never see the present (it's already past by the time we've processed it)
which puts the future completely out of reach.
The only thing we have to go on is that it seems to have been this way for a while now, an argument which any good debater will point out is a falicy.

The past is a memory and we can tell lies about it but cannot truly change it; the present is fleeting and waits for no one and the future is a dream not yet realized.
So, if you have a clean conscience, you can live the present worry-free and have no fears for your future.
Your past brought you here to where you are in the present, which will take you to where you will be in the future.
what you did in the past or what you do in the present affects what happens in the future.
The good or bad you did may not affect you in the present but will, eventually, catch up to you in the future, as said in one of the Beatle songs in their album Abbey Road, "The love you make is equal to the love you take."

Past is what brings the present; it is the foundation.
Present is what we do, have done, and bring for the future.
Future is what comes off the present, with a mixture of luck.

It is the same thing, time is not to be split into three distinct areas. If you remember something vividly, you are already in the "past", re-living that scene in your mind. If you imagine how's your future look like in 5 years and see yourself as a good husband/mother/CEO/whatever, you actually project your ideas into the future and help make them true.
