Only fools and Horses or The two Ronnies.
And to Cartman...your name tells us just how good your sense of humour is!

I would round it down to Fawlty Towers and Monty Python's Flying Circus, although most of what's been mentioned is absolute genius.
Cartman- I think you're missing the point a little there, American comedy does have quite a difference from British comedy, although they do buy our ideas- did you know Cosby was based on One Foot In The Grave? I do like Frasier because it's clever and Curb Your Enthusiasm but I very rarely laughed at stuff like Friends, it just wasn't my kind of humour.

Frazier - British? it may have a strong british input but it wasnt British
Father Ted - British? it may have been made by HatTrick but it was very much an Irish program
As others have alredy said humour is a very personal thing, its also a generational thing - whats funny to earlier generations isn't neccesarily funny to others - Personally I find "Vicar of Dibley cringemaking", as "One foot in the Grave" in fact most of the 80's & 90's self styled comedies unfunny.
Ronnie Barkers stuff seems to tbe the most consistent over time
Porrige, Open All Hours to name just two
In the sixites Dick Emery & Benny Hill made me laugh but most of all Spike Milligan
In the eighties I found sketch shows like Naked Video very funy (I thought Young Ones funny, but not that funny (its very dated looking back at it), Not the Nine O'Clock News likewise. The eighties seemed to mark the start of the unfunny comedians and comedy programmes
In the nineties Only Fools & Horses & Alan Partridge (also liked the ealier characters from Steev Coogan (such as the Calfs)
Of the new generation of comedies I find Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights and Max & Paddy will ding dang do for me.
The office cringemaking,
Blackadder - lost it after the first series
Chef! didnt
much of modern output seems to be comedic road crash - you watch it out of expectation that it couldn't possible get worse and sadly it did / does

Blackadder, although I've seen them all so many times now. Just imagine how funny the Young Ones used to be. By the way, if anyone's thinking of getting into Blackadder I'd suggest starting at Blackadder 2 and leaving the original The Black Adder until last just so that you can get more used to the scenario. Drop the Dead Donkey was fantastic but it was topical so it's out of date now.
