I was thinkin about proposing to my gf, not right now exactly but sometime in the near future and I can't think of a way to do it, just curious on how everyone has done it, maybe it will spark something to create a fun and creative way that means something to her?!
Oh and how much should you spend on the engagement ring? I read on the internet 2 months salary should be the starting point...

i proposed when i was blind drunk in a pub, and i fell on one knee and asked jokingly on my way up.
it was taken seriously and I'm getting married next month.
i do not recommend this approach. and i really wish i had done something romantic and different. perhaps something outdoors or on a romantic boat cruise.
good luck on your proposal and make it special, follow your heart.
about the ring, something that you can afford. if you love each other,she will love any ring. its a symbol of your love.
