If you've turned on message history, just right click, in MSN, on the user name, select the option "View" and click "Message History".

Remove the casing cover and at the bottom of the PC is a little box that holds all your emails and messages over the last year. Use they hanging beside the Ram sticks and open the box, emails are stored in the left hand side and messages on the right. If they are mixed up you can find your messages as they are on a slip of paper and emails are in tiny envelopes, usually green.

Right click on start, click on search, in the file name box put chat logs, in the look in box, click on the drop down arrow and select local hard drive or C drive, then search. This will bring up a list of places your chat logs are stored. Sometimes you can click on these links and go directly to the file you want, but sometimes you have to follow the directory in the link. They're usually in documents or shared documents which you can find in My Computer.

If enabled I think they are in received files in My Documents and it's in a folder called chat logs. But it can be disabled through the options so that they won't be recorded if needed.
