It depends on when and where you shop, In Singapore you have a greater choice and also the more exclusive brands, but they also have a better sale going on sometimes. In Malaysia (Borneo) I found that it wasn't all that cheap, but there were some really good deals, however a smaller choice. It really depends on what you are looking for.

Other way round !
Malaysia is cheaper, that is why Singaporeans come across to Malaysia to shop, and why Malaysia restricts the quantities of certain items that can be taken from malaysia into Singapore.

Depend what goods. There are Singaporean go Malaysia to shop and vice versa. Just handphone alone (even without contract), you should able to see how much cheaper in Singapore compare to Malaysia.

For branded goods, Singapore's cheaper. But if it comes to food products (locally produced), street hawker food and local brand clothing, Malaysia's cheaper. I go to Malaysia to update on my wardrobe all the time because they've got clothing brands like 'Seed' or 'Padini' or 'East India Company' and the pricing is really reasonable.
