Mine is the same the amount it stores is different to the number it plays - mine can hold up to 150 songs but it is only built to play 99 songs the rest is used for storage. or e.g. at the min i can only play 80 songs as the file sizes are bigger and it has taken up the rest of the memory on the mp3 - it just depends on how big the file sizes are but your max is 99 songs

File size depends on the length of the song. That is why manufacturers state capacity in bytes as opposed to number of songs because the number of songs will always vary.
Example, if you have ten songs that are 5mb each and assuming the songs have an average length of 5 minutes. This will take up 50MB of memory and 50 minutes of listening time.
You can also have only song that may be 50 minutes in length (unlikely but possible). This will take up all you memory but it will only be one song.

I hope I haven't confused you further!

The amount of songs your mp3 player holds depends on the length of each song. If you have some songs with a large file size, then it reduces the amount of songs you can have on your player.

I actually have a Zune with 80 GB. it rather is soooo staggering. you could placed rather some video clips, music video clips, podcasts, and p.c.. on it. I genuinely recommend getting a Zune than an Ipod. it might possibly not have video games even though it has an FM radio. And the show is larger so which you will watch video clips extra suited and clearer on the show. you additionally can placed your person p.c.. as a history. stable good fortune and get a ZUNE!

make sure all your songs are mp3's and not wma.. as some players won't recognize the wma... take all the songs off, format* it and putback on...

* use FAT and not quick format.. g'luck
