The situations in the movies "I Robot", "AI", "The Terminator", and "The Matrix" reflect the future of the world. They are not just any setting for story and action purposes. They are somewhat a reminder to all that these possibilites may happen in the near future, AND, it is more becoming possible because today we've heard of ANDROIDS who can imitate movements and speech of man.
Now, would you agree with me if I say that the movies stated above are NOT warnings so that we may be able to prevent such possibilites, BUT, they are reality that WILL really happen in the future.
With the above movies stated, I say, the first situation that would happen is the "AI", next is "I Robot", then, "The Terminator", finally, "The Matrix".
So... If ever you've asked on how the world would end, watch "The Matrix", understand it, and you'll know how horrible the world would end.

No, I wouldn't agree. Don't take the cinema so seriously.

First of all you must understand the comcept that all movies are fantasy, make belive...even those inspired by true facts, they way the movie evolves is not the same with the real situation. They must make it inciting for viewers to watch it. I happen to agree with you, but this is not the way the world will end, only God knows that. But robots (genereal speaking) will become more evolved to such a point in our evolution that we'll feel that they are a treat and they will have to defend themselves from us.
it is plausible. Einstein said that each moment of anyones life has an infinite probable outcome, and that every imaginitive situation is likely to happen with the passing of time. So the heman race could die out beeing slaughtered by robots, the planet might blow up, the polar ice sheet might melt and flood the world, etc. Matematichaly it is all palusible.
I want to apologyze for my english , it has been a while since I have used it.

I don't agree.

Those are MOVIES, not prophecies from the future. It's just something people with lots of imagination dreamed up to make a lot of money. It's entertainment. Even if some of the settings are rather realistic, nobody will ever see them as a warning, because we don't know what will happen in our future. Yes, we are building androids and robots, but we are very, very far away from creating artificial intelligence, let alone artificial consciousness.

I think the world won't end because machines will take over. The world will end because us humans will destroy nature, and finally we will destroy all life on earth, including ours (maybe not including bacteria or cockroaches)

Movies have to be based on some truths so that audiences can relate. In the aforementioned titles, we see worlds of possibilities, not probabilities, and that is a difference often overlooked. Movies also rely on audience imagination...so viewers mix the truths with imagination and come up with the "wow" factor that makes movies popular and the visions of the filmmaker migrate to those of the audience. Nightmares seem very real when they unfold, so do movies. We get caught up in the experiences and react to the seeming realities. That's entertanment. It is always good to examine such fantasies and apply the possible horrors to your reality, to reveal sidesteps to avoid possible (not necessarily probable) outcomes as presented. But never delude yourself to believe movies are cystal balls just because some were able or have been able to preview a future condition. (Example: watch the 1960s movie Farenheit 451. You will see a wall mounted TV that looks exactly like a 42-inch LCD or plasma screen you can buy today. But, we have not become a society where firemen burn books.)

there is no doubt that better abd better robots are being made, AI is developing by leaps and bounds but underlying breain is that of the humans. The human species is also becoming very intelligent and is no mood to let any other species control it, be it robots. Its Man that has made such movies and so are capable of seeing that this might happen in the future, so they will be smart enuf to have the ace always up their sleeve. No fears!!

No - i don't agree.

Even though the Matrix is one of my all time favourites and I do feel that it may contain alot more truth than we would be willing to actually believe.

But I don't think those types of films will ever be 'reality'. And that is not denial, that is just down to my belief that mankind is the most dominant species on our planet and will always evolve to the highest advantage.

Aliens is another story.
