I think there are a lot of pretty women out there but I think the women of the past were just as attractive but had a lot more class. So many girls these days go around looking like tarts and it's a real shame because they look cheap. And they wear far too much makeup. I worked in a school where the 7 year old girls would talk about boys and makeup! When I was a kid I was interested in Barbie and Cabbage Patch Kids! I'm not saying it because I'm jealous, as I have modelled before and am still young but I admire classy women. Have you seen J-Lo without makeup or all these other Hollywood starlets. Without their stylists they just look like the average girl down the supermarket.

Sorry to break it to you, but more skin != more beauty. If that were the case, Paris Hilton and the hookers at the street corner would be the most sought after women.

I disagree that women are prettier now. I've seen photos of my great grandmother and her friends. They were more drop-dead gorgeous than most of the women you see plastered with makeup, skimping down the street now.

The concept of beauty has changed, as well. Whereas it was guaged by actual, natural beauty in the past, it's now rated according to how many ribs are showing, how low you can get the number on your dress tag, or how many surgical procedures you've had to carve away at your features. The things that constitute as 'beauty' these days are pathetic.

You probably do because the perception of beauty changes with different generations. I think it is all relative to the time that you live in and what your tastes are. After all the biggest sexual icon of the Twentieth Century was a size 16 (Marilyn Monroe) and the average size of a movie star in the early and mid 20th century was a size 10-12. If you are into more athletic girls then the Skinny Brigade of this century will be more your cup of tea! Women are just beautiful and sexy, and we know it!

Depends how far in the 'past' you mean.. If you mean 50-70 years ago, I'd say no. Just look at all the silver-screen actresses, they were absolutely beautiful. Flawless complexions, curvy bodies, full red lips - classic beauty. Now you just see skinny, sunbed-tanned girls with hair extensions and clothes the same as everyone else, nobody stands out anymore - which is why I love Dita Von Teese - she epitomises the classic 'pin-up' look of people like Bettie Paige.

Not prettier...I think women tend to be so obsessed with appearance now, so they slap on the make up/get surgery/wear too-revealing unflattering clothes and it just doesn't look nice. Women in times gone had so much more class; maybe because it wasn't 'ok' to act like a tart, I don't know!

I think women are just as good loking now as they were in the past, but in a different way.

There are many women who do not wear a lot of make-up, myself included. I do not like it on my skin. If I am going out, I will wear a little mascara and tinted lip balm, and I believe that is all anyone needs.

People talk about glamour models and the beautiful women who adorn our magazines, but if you saw them without their make-up (or digital manipulation) they would be just the same as you or I.

We look after ourselves more and we are more aware of the things we do to our bodies now. There were beautiful women then and there are now, nothing has changed.

No, it just means you are being brainwashed by fashion.
Women of all the ages made themselves prettier by the fashion standard of the time. Rubenesque nudes were perfect in their day, but fat by today's standards. The beehive and the bob ? bet you loved them while they were in fashion.
If you believe they are prettier today, it probably means like the masses you are drawn towards desiring what everyone else wants instead of thinking for yourself, and finding a woman you can love for more than a few trends.

Bit of advice.
I dumped every supermodel looking girl I ever went out with, and fell in love with almost every normal (girl)friend I had. I discovered they were better looking anyway, after I had grown to enjoy their company.

It seems so to you but I make to say it is not so. They are more given to looking more sexy and give more attention to enhancing their sex appeal which rather creats more moral and sex-related problems for the world than making the women-folk more beautiful.

The various body & skin care products that are available nowadays emphasize more on the sexuality of the women than enhancing heir beauty, while women of those days in the past dressed more modestly and with less emphasis on sexuality yet they were a beauty to behold in their attiresand fashion outfits compared to the fashion trend nowadays which is reflective of a morally deficient, deficient and depraved society.
