The red light normally means you have no adsl connection. Contact your isp to check if there is a fault at your exchange.

red light on the router call your (isp)server they will tell you what to do to fix it if they can but most (isp)server's ...Technical Support ..dont know what there doing ..when you tell them the problem they guy on the phone if he cant understand it says please wait i will put you on hold he runs off to some one who has a brain ask them then comes back to you and says sorry for the waiting time this is what you do ...so when you call them ask for someone in the Technical Support dep ..who has a brain that way your phone bill dont go up there is other way around this you can call Technical Support dep. who made the router they will help you
it is like Technical Support on computers
when you call them they have some 18 year old pip who thinks he/her knows all about computers they take you around your computer for the best part of 1 or 2 hours and still can fix the problem then they say please hold we will pass you over to the no 2 level Technical Support ..dep then you have to start all over again and they may fix the problem but to get you off the phone fast they tell you to do a format of the hard drive and set windows back up
some Technical Support that is thxs god i know how to set up a computer and internet
Technical Support they dont know a lot at all there just there to run you all over the computer and your phone bill hits the the top of the house the more you learn about your computer and the router problem when you can fix things that go wrong then your be ok
all the best

Are you using the same AC adapter on both? If so, it might be going out. If that's not the case, you may have a faulty power source at the wall or power strip. If the former, someone skilled with testing the socket should do so, particularly in older houses.
