I use to go to sleep than get up in the middle of the night and eat wierd things and never remember it. (Yes it was always food) I would wake up and the icing for a cake would be eaten or cool whip container would be on the counter. I have noticed that recently I do not sleep eat (thats what I call it :) ) but I do wake up 4,5 sometimes 6 times a night. I feel tired the next day and I dont know what is going on. I thought maybe it was sleep apnea but I do not snore so I guess thats out. Can anyone help?

I used to have it too. I would suggest making sure that you are eating healthy meals, don't eat lots of sugar at night (before going to bed, anytime after 7pm). Then if you really want, take calcium magnesium tablets with 100 mg of B6. Calcium and magnesium calms muscles and B6 calms nerves. Try it for a couple weeks and see if it helps (I am into natural remedies and dont like to go to medical drugs). Up to you.

some stomach ulcers do not show the symptom of pain but just give a craving for eating something. In homeopathy Petrolienum (30) 3 pills 3 to 4 times a day for a week will remove this problem of "" Must wake up in the middle of the night and eat" Contact a homeopath or take the above mentioned medicine if it is freely available in your country.

If you drink a lot of caffeine during the day, that could be a cause.

But I would really talk to your doctor and find out if you could see a specialist and participate in a sleep study.

That way they will watch you and possibly diagnose you, if you have a sleeping disorder.

I don't think it's sleep apnea, because you don't usually get up and walk around. You just stop breathing for extended periods.

Try walking in the evening, start out walking a mile and then each time increase your distance to you reach say 3 miles! This should relax you, not to mention the other added benefits!

Could be simple insomnia. There are safe sleeping pills you can try, but you should see a doctor to maybe give you a right prescription.
