Open the folder that has the music, select all the music( shortcut press Ctrl+A to select all) right click for the pop up menu to appear and select copy (if you want to have a copy of your music to remain on your internal hard drive) or select cut ( if you want move your music from your hard drive). Get to the desktop and open My Computer( using the icon) in my get to the side where you have your cd-rom icon you would find the icon to your external there.Double click to open, when opened right click where you want put your music( you would see the same pop up menu) now select paste, you would see your music coming on to your external hard drive.

Select All(ctrl+A) > COPY (CUT in case u need no more them in your earlier drive- else copy) > open that drive> paste(CTRL+V).
If does not work, right click on selection-open property-remove the Readonly option and then try again.
