Ny, get the book, "The World of Words: The Illustrated History of Western Languages." That will at least help you to understanding the connection to the languages originating in the Western countries. The author is Victor Stevenson.

It is true. Just one example. In tamil "Kattumaram" means the small boat used by fishers to sail to sea. This kind of boat is not available in Westerns countries. When they saw this they asked for the name of this boat. They could not pronounce the same...they named it "katamaran".
