Tetsuo the Iron Man is pretty trippy...in black and white, but plenty of gore, and you're definitely going to think. I haven't seen them, but have always heard good things about the original Japanese versions of the Ring (the American versions are remakes, and generally considered inferior)...if you want something seriously sick, though it's not easy to track down, try the original Guinea Pig...some of the old Hong Kong Category III flicks are off the hook as well...if you can get Ebola Syndrome or The Untold Story for starters...and yeah, the Ichi (Zatoichi, maybe) films are pretty good

I love foreign horror films they are alot better than whats coming out of Hollywood imo. Ones I liked were Into the Mirror, R Point, Bangkok Haunted among ones already mentioned by others here. A good site to look at is www.tartanvideo.com if you want to buy and have a look at the Tartan Asia Extreme part of the site

Infection and Eye 2 are also really good. Also, get Pulse. The J-horror one is SOOOOO much better than the crap one they just put out in theaters!! If you want something really different, try the Battle Royale series. I really thought those were a trip!

Ichi the killer is a classic, Battle Royale and suicide circle aren't really horror, but gory, twisted, and violent. The guinea pig films are sick if you can find them.

Asian Horror recommendation of the day: Shutter, from Thailand. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0440803/ ) - good, traditionalist, creepy and scary stuff. Comes with English subtitles.
