Yes I found out yesterday, I almost cried. I know some people say he deserved it . I completely disagree. What about people on bikes without helmets, people that speed, no seat belts, smoking, drinking. Or a closer comparison are astronauts. They risk their life for doing what they love. We don't say they deserved it when they die. At least Steve Irwin was trying to convey a messege to save the animals and inparticular the reptiles of the world. He died doing what he loved and may his sould rest in peace in heaven.

You are talking about Steve Erwin. He actually known as the Crocodile Hunter. We dont have alligators in Australia. He passed away on september 4th after being stung by a stringray while filming a documentary. Apparently it got him right in the heart, he pulled the barb out and then died straight away and his camera man has it on film. Its a very sad thing to happen. I wasnt a big fan of his but it was very shocking to hear, as he has a young family and wasnt that old himself.

My oldest child cried, I felt sick inside to have learned this. He will be missed, and I am heartbroken for the family and people who knew him, but the many children in the world who have now had their first lesson in how bad things can happen to good people

yeh.
first , he was wrongly branded as "crocodile hunter". he was not a "hunter" in strict sense of the word. yeh he was very much devoted to the animal world.
May god rest him in peace----even those crocodiles will be wishing the same, i feel.
