I think I'd shut the door and carry on with my rounds. I don't think I'd be able to resuscitate him.

I don't think my actions would kill him (he'd have done that himself) but at the same time, they wouldn't have saved him. Could you live with yourself for bring him 'back to life'?

Ian Huntley murdered two little girls.
What would I do? probably leave him their, that's what he d want and most people would agree with his wishes.
I don't think that somebody with his demons should live, his death would comfort the loved ones of the little girls who's lives he took.

I had no idea who he was....so I looked him up....he was recently awarded some money .....for Heaven's sake.........
I read this on Winkipedia
Prison
On 14 September 2005 Huntley was scalded with boiling water when another inmate attacked him[1]. A prison service spokesman said that due to the nature of high-security prisoners, "it's impossible to prevent incidents of this nature occasionally happening", but Huntley alleged that the prison authorities failed in their duty of care towards him, and launched a claim for £15,000 compensation. Huntley was reportedly awarded £2,500 in legal aid to pursue this claim, a move strongly criticised by the Soham MP, Jim Paice, who insisted on tight restrictions on the use of public money for compensation, and said "The people I represent have no sympathy for him at all". Huntley's injuries meant that he did not attend the hearing at which his minimum term was decided.

On 5 September 2006, Huntley was found unconscious in his prison cell, thought to have taken an overdose of anti-depressants[2]. He is currently in hospital.

( I guess we should all do the "right" thing.....and get him help....being...that is the "right" thing to do ).....obviously someone got him help.

Most of the Matthew Wright Show on Channel 5 was dedicated to this question. They covered everything from an ambulance being used by British taxpayers at 1.00 am this morning rushing Huntley to hospital etc.

The main conclusion was "let Huntley live and this bloke is only doing it for attention"

I was wondering the exact same thing.

Does anyone actually care that he's taken an overdose? I think it's a good thing, and would be even better if his attempt was successful.

I certainly wouldn't administer resuscitation. He doesn't deserve it. I feel sorry for the guards whose duty it was - they had no choice. Imagine the trouble they would have been in if they hadn't helped. Though imagine how they feel having to try and save the life of such a monster.

The only issue of importance here is the cost to the taxpayer. Leaving him (or helping im) to die saves several hundred thousand pounds per year of our hard earned cash.
So, it doesn't just apply to Huntley - ALL people guilty (proven, not assumed on probability) of crimes of violence should be killed off in the cheapest manner - hanging. The rope is reuseable.
Basically, if the law is changed to reflect this and the potential criminal is aware of the punishment in advance - there's no reason why not to. If you know that mugging somebody for their mobile phone will put you on the end of a rope, it's your choice. Don't complain afterwards that it's unfair.

I would do all I could to enable him to survive! Dying for him is the easy way out!! He's a coward, had he REALLY wanted to die, he would have made sure of it!! He was sentenced to life imprisonment, never to be released. I want him to spend every waking moment, of the rest of his life in torment!! I hope he rots in prison!! I would pay a million quid, if I had to,to make sure his life was a hell on earth!! There is talk this morning of helping prisoners like him to die, assisted suicide. Whats the matter with these people? Why make it easy for such a creature, one who showed NO MERCY to two young girls, for his own perverted sexual needs? Why are some in our twisted society insisting on helping people that have done such evil deeds? Prison these days is not what I would call prison, they are made too comfortable, many with the comforts of home.I hope he recovers, has a lifetime of living hell, but even THAT is too good for him!! He does not deserve an ounce of compassion!!!

I think I would ignore him, and say I thought he was asleep if anyone asked. He's scum, and deserves to suffer.

For those of you who don't know, Ian Huntley was a caretaker at a school in the quiet village of Soham, Cambridgeshire. He abducted and killed two girls, aged 10. He then dumped the bodies near RAF Lakenheath, USAF base in Cambridgeshire, England.

I think morally I'd have to give him CPR but i wouldn't be happy about it. I'd probably get in a couple of rib jabs while he was out though.

In all seriousness though this is the second time he has tried to OD why doesn't he sort himself out next time and do it properly.
He is a sick monster that is now living off taxpayers money while his ex runs off and gets breast implants on NHS.

why should he be allowed to take the easy way out when the parents and families of the two little girls he murdered have to carry on every day, in saying that he is prob living a better life on the inside than he had on the outside, the prison system is a joke, they r more like hotels than what they were intended for,
ppl who comitte crimes of that mangnatude should be made to pay long and hard for their crimes and bloody do gooders campaining for their rights should stay outta it. murders have no rights. or am i the only one that feels so strongly about it

I'm quite surprised that he didn't accidentally "fall down stairs" (even if he WAS on the ground floor.........) and after that, he'd just have to be given a single pill at a time and watched while he took it, and THEN given a thorough mouth inspection just to make sure that he's not hidden it under his tongue to save up for later use.....
