I always liked him. I thought his enthusiasm for animals was a great thing, but it was his outward love for his wife and kids that got me. I feel so bad for those little babies, left without a dad. I hope Animal Planet does a tribute to him.

R.I.P. Steve Irwin. You will be missed!

I didn't know him personally, so I am not going through any real grief, but I do feel very sorry for his family. I always think it is tragic when someone with small children passes, especially when it was something so senseless. It can't be any easier on them that the whole world knows about it, and has an opinion about it.

I feel terribly upset for his death. After all, he was the one who glamourised the field-work of an environmentalist. I almost cried hearing the news. He was, like, my idol. Rest In Peace, Steve!

I was sad when I read the news.My heart goes out to his wife & two kids.He was so brave & was a gr8 animal lover.I dont agree with ppl who say that he fell prey to voyuristic television. Its bcos of ppl like him that we watch channels like Animal Planet & get to know so much abt nature/animals.

Saddened that he died so young . He was a great conservationist and truly believed in what he was doing as did many others. I have deepest sympathy for his wife and children and his parents. Knowing that he died doing the thing he loved may bring them a little comfort. I hope so.

I feel sad about it. He was way too young to die and this was a horrible way to die too. I feel sorry for his wife and kids. His eldest kid was there when it happened. Horrible. His wife wasnt near him, she was hiking somewhere in the woods. Imagine how she felt when she got the news. I feel sad about losing a very special person who dedicated his life to animals and preserving the world's ecosystem.
