You can open a command line or terminal and type "netstat" When transferring a file or directly connected.

Yes above answer good but little lame because it will only give you route address and not the IP you are asking for. I know how to do it but that would be telling robbers to come and rob my house. Only hackers always asking this type of questions. I am sorry I am not in hacking and I strongly advise any from hacking.
Hacking is like robbery, theft, burglary, and breaking and entering. How would you fell if I do that to you?

I've been told by a friend that IP address is only used in network and you can't read it while chating with other computer's especially in the internet....
reason becoz...virus can track your IP and send you most annoying things...get my Idea???^_^ peace
