Yes you can do the same in online trading.
but before entering this field, get a thourough training from a stock trader to understand all the tools that are at your disposal.
This can help you sometimes to pick some shares, minimize your loss, maximise your returns.

Yes. Till the time u have sufficient funds/money available with u, you can buy and sell any number of shares u want.
U can buy and sell next second, if u wish. This is called as "day trading" / "intraday trading" etc.
Secondly, at many brokers' trading terminals, "jobbing" takes place. This is precisely buy and sell transactions in very short time spans, many times practically taking place within 5 seconds of each other. This is possible for the sharebrokers only since they don't pay brokerages on their own trades.
If u need more information about stock market trading please ask. But I will provide only information since am associated with the stocks investments and trading. Please Do NOT ask for investment tips etc.

yes, u can. open a savings a/c and a demat a/c with icici bank. it will provide the facility of linking ur savings a/c with demat a/c and facility to enable online trading at their website icicidirect.com. u can then buy/sell shares online restricted only by funds available in ur a/c.
