Like every college grad who goes into the guard to be an officer they must go to officers school and pass all the rigors.
But Bush didn't and his dad flew down PERSONALLY to quickly pin his lieutenant bars on him.
That isn't how an officer is made, how could this happen in America?

You're correct.
Bush attended Air Force enlisted basic training and was given an officer's commision that he didn't earn.
No OCS or OTS. No ROTC and he certainly wasn't a military service academy graduate.

Three words: Dad was President.
He probably wouldn't have earned it on his own merit if he had gone through training. I don't see how the people saying he's the greatest president ever can even believe that themselves. What about Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin? The only reason why anyone can even say Bush is the best president of the decade is that he's the only one so far. I never liked Ronald Reagan or George H. W. Bush, but both were far better than Dubya.

The better question would be how such a lying, sanctimonious crack head was elected President. How did he get into the guard ahead of others that were drafted? Will he be judged the worst president ever? Probably.

Officers have different modes of promotions and Bush was the most controversial one because he became a President.
