I fully support your views on the present reservation policy of the Govt. The policy of reservation as applicable to admissions in educational institutions, selection for jobs and also for subsequent promotions is definitely violation of right to equality . This is discrimination on the basis of caste and is having highly discourging and demoralising effects in the Indian society, resulting in loss of efficiency over the years in various areas, especially in Govt. machinery. In fact, this has considerbly slowed down the process of development of the country, besides adding many other problems. Unfortunately, our politicians who are thriving on vote-banks and want to build empires for their own generations, are not bothered about the country. The right choice would have been to adopt reservation on the basis of financial status. This would have also discouraged patronisation of casteism. Even if caste was taken as a basis for reservation, it should have been allowed for a definite and reasonably short period and should have been applicable for one time only during initial admission in academic institutions and during initial appointment in Govt. jobs. With the vote-bank policy now in force, it seems there is no end to reservations and every other day a new demand is coming up.

I request like-minded people who are really interested in doing good for the country - especially to the weaker section of society, to mobilise support for a campaign against the policy of resrvations.

the history of India clearly shows a strong set of class/caste system. now in the present context, i think it is fair enough to have reservation to bring up these so called lower class/caste members to be at par with the rest of Indian society, which is , i think in right earnest of Equality. On the other hand, it may seem unfair to many to have reservation in a free world of competition where its the fittest, the best who get through.. Reservation is a very debateable topic, but at the end of the day it's how the individual concerned understands it that really matter. And personally, i dont see Reservation as a bane to India nor should it prove to be a stumbling block in the development of the nation.

Reservation should be there, in every field, everywhere.

It should be when we choose the pilots. It should be when we select our cricket and other sports teams. It should be when we form a ministry, either in state or in centre. We should have it for the posts of PM, President, Governors, CMs.

I do not know why Arjun singh has left all these places. When 27 % was reserved at IITs and IIMs, certain other places have been left out, as ISRO, Atomic Institutes etc. We are descriminating against the oppressed classes, by not reserving seats in the above area. Will our government take quick action?

By following this, our country will prosper to be a developed nation, in coming years.

Reservation is for the benefit of the backward castes which were looked down upon by upper castes and werent given a chance to improve in the society. Now government by introducing reservation policy is helping them to come in par and compete with the rest of the society.
Yeah, reservation kills merit. But they deserve better chances because they were illtreated before.Things should be compensated back to square one.
However they must lessen the number of seats reserved to backward classes. The percentage of seats reserved by the government for P.G course in medicine is outrageous.

Nothing needs to debate on this IT IS A BLIND TRUTH that if equality is forced upon the basis of cast and religion and not on merit it surely shows a sign of impending political change and disintigration of the society into various caste blocks and civic unrest. The Indian politicians of the day have proved themselves worst than the British rulers who deserve to be kicked out!

Yes and why not? Who bothers to attain the development of the nation? Where is the nation in its sanctity involved? Reservation is the boon for vote banks in Indian democracy.

If there weren't reservations two things come immediately to mind.

1. There would be chaos at our finest restaurants.
2. There would be no place to put the Indians.
