I wish to write an autobiography. I don't know why but I feel that many people should know about what I have gone through so that they don't make the same mistakes..I have been maintaining a journal since 4 years now, But the only thing is I am 17 years old. So can I still write one? And is it necessary that only famous personalities write autobiographies?

Condense a major event in your life as a short story. Then move on to another event or a decision and its consequences that came. Eventually all these short stories can be collected together into one autobiography.

Once you've written all that comes to mind, arrange the stories into chapters from the earliest time period to the most recent.

It's fortunate that you're only 17 years old. There is much more to experience in life as you age. You've just scratched the surface in life's experiences of joy, tears, and major decisions. You've yet begun a life as an adult making all the choices and mistakes that come with the territory.

By beginning now with your biography, writing down the important events of your life is the best way to accomplish your objective.

While autobiographies of celebrities, important politicians, and the rich and famous will sell, it doesn't diminish efforts in recording your events for posterity.

Most important, always edit your works for proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Nobody enjoys reading something that is chock full of writing errors.

Find the booklet, "The Elements of Style" by Strunk and White. It is an excellent aid for novice and professional writer.

Anyone can write an autobiography. No matter what age. The journal is going to be a big help when you do write it. And you don't have to be famous to have an autobiography.Oh, and Good Luck!

Anyone can write an autobiography, but it's usually only famous people who can get them published. Publishers want to sell enough copies of every book to make a profit, and they know that thousands more people will buy a book if it is about someone whose name they know already. Sad, but true. Just think; if you went to the bookshop and saw two books side by side, and one had the name of a famous sportsperson/actor/singer/writer/artist/poli/model/survivor/victim (pick your celebrity type!) on it and the other was about Sarah (who's she?) WHite, which would you be likely to spend your $25.00 on?

You can be young (Drew Barrymore was about 15 when she "wrote" hers) or you can be not famous (David Pelzer and Betty Mahmoody for example only became famous BY writing memoirs) but I don't know about both at the same time. Good luck though!

Any age is all right. Make sure you have something original to write about. Also depends on how you write.
