It's possible but there are so many dangers in meeting a person this way that the risks far outweigh the advantages. There are so many perverts and liars online and they are good at what they do. Who wants to take a chance of being raped or bludgeoned to death by believing their story? If you want to get to know someone, do it face-to-face, not over the net.
Protect yourself, your life is at stake here.

I believe it can be true. In my case it is my fiance and i met online but we were just friends at first and we chatted online without meeting for about little more than a year and then we met and went out a couple of times and then we knew that we were very attracted to each other and it wasnt just an internet thing. I was really scared to meet him at first but if the person is sincere the fear eventually goes away so now we have been together 4 years and still going..hehe

I think it could happen, but I honestly feel (and I don't mean any offense) that most people who internet date are maybe looking too hard and a little too ready to get serious. Plus I think that the magical *something* is too important, and to visceral, to be found online. I have no doubt that there are many people who have found real love on the internet, but I don't think I could.
Oh I didn't even think of the whole rapist/stalker thing yeah that's a big negative too.

Why take the chance. Get out and meet some real people so you can have some legitimate fun in the process.

i think sometimes on the net people lie and make up things but usually you can tell when someone is genuine. it could happen.

All I heard are very negative. It turn into rape, molest and robbery, rascals......etc.
