i hate to admit it but i need to spy on my brother. i think he might be doing some illegal stuff. i've heard there is software where i can monitor what he is writing and sending. i want to be able to look at his IM and sent emails. where can i get some of this software? does it really work? how hopeful can it be? if it helps to know, he uses AOL.

You can use a keylogging program such as the one at the link below, or you can find a hardware keylogger which the keyboard plugs in to then goes to the motherboard. You can pick one of those up on eBay for 20 bucks or so. If you take that route you just leave it on for a few days then plug it in on your computer and use your software that comes with it to restore the info it had saved. I would only recommend doing this if your brother would be smart enough to notice a keylogger program. You could also set AIM to create a log of all instant messages, and you can read those when he isn't around.

Don't be nosy. And it's illegal unless you own the computer and inform other users that it is monitored. Try asking him, and if that don't work, try parents.

nothing is impossible. depends on how much you are willing to pay .

But the bottom line is you suspect your borther doing something , do you love him enough to confront him , tell him what you suspect and tell him you don't want him to continue ?

It's technically possible, but that's not going to solve you or your brother's problems.
