Are you taking any meds for the anxiety? Sometimes that helps with the aches. You need to keep seeing diff Dr's till you get some answers. If you can afford to go to a wholistic Dr they are great. It could be anything from depression, to food allergies, to chronic fatigue syndrome, epstein barr, ...

Either the pain is less at work cause your mind is busy, or because you are being active?? Do you fell better if you excercise? Lessen your sugar intake and get off caffeine if you can, but slowly if you drink alot. Buy a juicer if you don't have one and make great juices... the raw food can really make you feel better. Also, there are audio tapes out there for relaxation and body scanning...yea sounds weird, but they work. I can be aching all over from anxiety stress and chronic fatigue syndrome and put the tapes in, when I wont be interrupted, and I always feel better.
Body scanning is just where you lie down and concentrate on relaxing certain parts of your body one at a time. The person on the tape guides you. You would be surprised how we hold in our stress sometimes and dont even know we are tensing. Biofeedback is also great for anxiety.
Massage is another very healing thing to get done.

Good luck and talk to some diff Dr.s and see what they say...TELL them what you want, test wise, dont wait for them to suggest everything. Get food allergy testing done to learn if you should watch your diet.
The audio tapes are amazing too.
There is so much out there to learn...make it your passion to find out what will make you feel better. I am on that journey too.
Good luck and God bless!

If you've felt bad this long and your doctor hasn't helped you, why haven't you seen another doctor? That would be the first thing I would do. Stress is serious business in and of itself. It can cause physical problems such as high blood pressure, heart attack, and stroke to name a few. Cancer has been called the ultimate stress disease. I am plagued with arthritis 24/7 and I do not feel as awful when I can occupy myself with something useful and/or interesting. When I am at leisure, I notice the pain more. But there is something going on besides stress and if I were you, I'd find a doctor that takes this problem seriously. There is help for you but finding it may take persistence. Try a rheumatologist. I wish you the best!

There is one person who can help you - YOU. If the doctor has not diagnosed any malfunction in your body, the cause is mental. Many of us carry our work (read anxiety & pressure) home with the result that we are always stressed. Pains and aches are connected to the stress. You have to relieve yourself of the stress. How? You can attend classes/ seminars (or read books) on managing stress & they are good; but at the end, you will have to act on the guidelines provided in the classes.

It does certainly sound psychological, while your mind is active and on other things your aches and pains subside, it is when you have time to think about them that they get worse. Your mind can make these pains worse, the more you think and worry about it the worse it gets. I suffered similar and panic attacks, as soon as your mind can accept that they are not real pains, they will go away as quick as they came. They do re-occur, but keep telling yourself 'I know what this is, it is anxiety, I am okay'

You sound like a bit of a hypocondriac, just think if it were serious you wouldnt still be here and besides you would probably know about it-try think of other people that are worse than yourself and arent even able to go to work or go about their normal life.

Try relaxing with some wine and a good book or movie can take yor mind of things.

I've always believed that wellness is a state of mind. For me it always helps to talk myself through a situation, for example, when my sister gets sick, she always tells me I'm going to get sick and I tell her "no I'm not". Well, lo and behold, I don't. If you tell yourself that some of your aches and pains are simply your mind believing you're hurt and that they are not that bad, maybe you too could start to feel some relief from positive self talk.
