Im interested in finding out how everyday people, just like me, get by on a monthly basis.

Average? I'm not sure how you could average that. I mean, people have different eating styles. We don't eat a lot of pre-packaged foods. Instead we buy fresh ingredients and cook. So, we'd spend differently than the person who eats microwave dinners. Plus, the cost of living varies from state to state and that is reflected in the grocery prices. So, a week's worth of groceries in Wyoming would probably be different than the price of a week's worth in say, California. We live overseas and shop in a military grocery store. Our store has near the highest prices in the military. It isn't even across the board just because we're military. I know for a fact that if we could shop at Wal-mart we'd save a ton of money on groceries.

As it is now I'd say we spend about $400/month. But keep in mind that much of it goes to fresh produce and we buy a lot of organic products.
