Niro I do not have a clue what it means but judging by the fact that the great actor Robert de has it as part of his surname and 'de' means 'of' or 'from' I would suggest that it is a place, and because Robert de is from Italian descent I would then suggest it was a place in Italy. Whether it has anything to do woth the Emperor I could not say.
