Steps:
1. Algebraic add .of like terms to balance equation
3x+ (-2x) = 1x and 7 +8 = 15
2. Since 1x is the same as sayin "x" then;
x =15

3. Prove by subsitution. Place in the "15" where the "x" was located back into both equations. Do the operations the result should be the same on both sides;

3(15) - 7 = 2(15) + 8
45 - 7 = 30 + 8
38 = 38

I have worked this as an example for you to try for yourself. Just getting the answer is not learning it.

Please do this over again until you understand the process. The Process is the same for the same structured equation. Do the examples and practice problems from your text in your own personal math journal. Make notes in your math journal that make clear your understanding of the solution. Work word problems that correspond to the examples. Put those in your math journal as well.

hi :-) there,
it's an easy equation. follow the guide lines.Algebraic add .of like terms to balance equation

3x+ (-2x) = 1x and 7 +8 = 15
2. Since 1x is the same as sayin "x" then;
x =15

3. Prove by subsitution. Place in the "15" where the "x" was located back into both equations. Do the operations the result should be the same on both sides;

3(15) - 7 = 2(15) + 8
45 - 7 = 30 + 8
38 = 38
as the both side of the equation should be the same
