Hmmm. You're right. Dinosaurs must be evil. God must not approve of dinosaurs. Those who believe in dinosaurs must be going to hell. We have to get dinosaurs out of all the books and stop teaching about them in the schools. And the museums? Well, those have got to go too.

I just hope that neither of my kids grows up to be a paleontologist. I don't think I could bear it!

Don't be so sure. I can't find my Bible CD at the moment, and the Bible search page won't load for me at the moment, but get a concordance or do a search for "behemoth." It will be in the Old Testament, and describes a huge creature with a tail like a tree. This could be a description of a dinosaur or a dragon. Sorry, just found it. Job 40:15. Read the whole chapter, for the description is quite lengthy and enlightening. No need for "The Bible II." It's already in there.

The Bible was written about 2 thousand years ago and back then, people believed in Dragons etc. Dinosaurs as we know them didn't appear until the late 1700's/early 1800's.

So, basically, when the Bible was written, people didn't know about Dinosaurs and no believer in their right mind would dare start changing such an important part of their Holy Book. There are some Christian groups who have a theory that balances everything Bible with everything Dinosaur but as I don't know the details, you'll have to find someone who knows the details :-)

There are large beasts mentioned, such as Leviathan. The age of dinosaurs is calculated using two methods, one is the sedimentary layers above the fossil, the other is radio-isotope dating. Calculating using sedimentary layers makes assumptions about how these layers were deposited (e.g., the quantity of alluvium deposited each year). This makes no allowances for extraordinary events (such as a flood) where large layers of alluvium would be deposited in one go. Radio-isotope dating also makes assumptions. The calculated half life of some radio-isotopes is too long to confirm via observation. They are based on the probability of decay rather than actual decay. They also make assumptions concerning the ratio of isotopes when the fossil was a living being. If you take a piece of shell from a living molluc and subject it to radio-isotope testing it will appear to be thousands of years old.

Xenobiologists say that there may be species long since thought to be extinct in some remote parts of the Earth. Stories of large creatures persisted throughout the world well into the middle ages, and still persist in some areas to this day. It may that the monsters of legend and myth had their origin on living beasts that we know of as dinosaurs.

Yet the Bible says the Earth is only about 6000 years old. And about 2200 B.C. was the Noah flood and everything started over after that. So, according to the Bible, dinosaurs either lived with humans before 2200 B.C., or Noah loaded up 2 of each onto his boat and they died off later. It's absurd what people will believe.

HAHAHA... you are saying "the bibel II, the directors cut?

Is that a joke? or you are suggesting a computer game? or you want to write one yourself? go ahead!

Bible is never absolute, never have been all-correct, never I tell you! and the church is nothing but yes-man of bible, even it is so fragile.

However, a level 3 dude above says about levithian, that makes a little sense but again, look at the Genesis chapter and evolution stuff, oh dear.

The bible dates back to a little more than a thousand years. There were no dinosaurs then.

whenever anybody talks about the bible in this way I always remember the news article from the comedy Red Dwarf, which the news reader say that "the state of modern religion was thrown into chaos today after finding what is believed to be a missing page from the bible on Mount Sinai, the page reportedly from the beginning says "to my beloved Trisha. All characters and events portrayed are fictitious and any resemblance to anybody living or dead is purely a coincidence"

I think the Leviathan (Job 41) referred to is a marine type animal. So a giant crocodile or water type dinosaur type creature. The Behemoth (Job 40 ) is a giant land type creature, so it could be a dinosaur. Behemoth in hebraic is "beast par excellence" - that sounds like a huge ole dinosaur to me!!!
