Either way, Knowing what it is isn't something you can learn. Its something that is just kind of shows up on its own.

(Note: This may be a nice saying, but I'm not necessarily sure its true all the time. There are times when "at whatever cost" may be too high a cost for people who aren't Marie Curie. Don't forget that she may have had to justify the illness her work brought on her.)

There could be many interpretations of this, I like to think that if one really enjoys doing something it doesn't necessarily have to follow that you are good at it. For instance I love to sing, however if I sang in public I would empty an auditorium quicker than a fire ! Having the love of something is to be gifted in it.

generally we all come to know about our giftedness in subtle ways....some recognize that and go in that direction and sometimes we are burdenend with our other duties and roles and we cant take up that field in which we are gifted. but my personal experience is such that i have found that my area of giftedness keep helping me in all kinds of my work... i look at the objects and jobs from that angles only.....the urge to work like that keeps helping in my normal working.
if you want to find the area of your gifted ness then find out about that instinct or urge in you which makes you do your work in your unique way....that uniqueness is your giftedness....
