The first thing would be to do away with state and federal income tax. Instead there would be a higher sales tax on all items we purchase. That way the rich would be forced to pay their share of taxes without any of the loopholes that they have been using for years that the rich politicians have allowed them to do. No more deadlines in April, no need for the added expense of using an accountant. If the rich want to continue to have the best, go right ahead and buy it, but you won't be able to write off that BMW or your yacht for business anymore.

I would look at ways to improve homeland security. I would try to streamline it to make it more cost effective and more efficient. There seems to be no limit to the layers of bureaucracy that have been added onto this part of government. An open checkbook does not bring about greater efficiency. I would look at Fema also. Economically, Katrina was a greater disaster than 911. New Orleans used to be our second busiest port. Homeland security and Fema should work closely together. I don't see this happening.

A very, very good and honest question. My answer is that it's about 70 years too late to correct the deeply seeded and corrupt organizations/corporations and corrupted people in this government. I do believe that the only way to correct it would be a complete deconstruction and reassignment of people.

The people should be at the scientist level (less prone to corruption and more logical) and not "politicians". The only way sadly, would be to destroy it by force, and we as Americans do not have what it takes any longer. No lone man could correct what they have done to destroy our freedoms, economy or society. A good start would be to kick Barbra Boxer and Diane Fienstien out of office and also bar any Kennedy from ever entering.

PS: For anyone screening this post: I do not favor hurting people or our government, please do not come and smash down my door and black-bag me. PPS: I always spell her name incorrectly.

the local, state and federal govts are too cmplicated together - i would amke a strong central govt wiht one set of laws - now there are too many regulations and laws so things are hard to get done especially in the education system and the construction business
