MAHATMA DID'NT GET THE NOBLE PEACE AWARD COZ OF BRITISH PRESSURE......HAD HE GOT THE PRIZE THEN ,THE BRITS WOULD HAVE HAD TO LEAVE INDIA EVEN MUCH SOONER THAN 1947........

HAD MAHATMA GOT AWARD THEN..THEY COULD'NT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO JAIL MAHATMA AND WOULD HAVE CREATED EVEN MORE TOUBLES FOR BRITISH RULE IN INDIA.....SO HE WAS NOT GIVEN THEN...........

NOW IF YOU SEE THE LADY FROM IRAN GOT PEACE AWARD...COZ TO HIGHLIGHT WOMEN DISCRIMINATIONIN IRAN.......BEFORE THAT AN AMERICAN WAS GIVEN THIS WAR IN LIGHT OF WAR IN IRAQ......SO THESE ARE POLITICALLY MOTIVATED......MAY BE IN POSITIVE WAY....FOR WORLD PEACE AND PROSPERITY.........BUT ARE NOT CHOSEN AS INDEPENDENTLY ON BASIS OF WORK AND INDIVIDUAL'S PRINCIPLES......LIKE THAT MAHATMA HAD ABOUT NON-VIOLENCE........SO ITS UNLIKELY THAT HE BE GIVEN A NOBLE PRIZE NOW....

BUT NOW IF HE GETS.......INDIA WHO CONSIDERS HIM AS THE FATHER OF THE NATION.....SHOULD REFUSE IT...

NOW AWARDING A PEACE PRIZE TO GANDHIJI WOULD'NT BE A REWARD BUT AN INSULT TO THE GREAT MAHATMA....

AS ABOVE SAID NOW THE NOBLE PRIZE DOES'NT DESERVE "GANDHIJI".....

Agreed that Mahatma Gandhiji deserved the Noble Prize. But when his name was confered in 1943, He was not well known in the western world (except UK). So he didn't got enough votes to get a noble prize.

Even now Mahatma Gandhiji is not going to get the Nobel Prize.
The reason being that Nobel Prize cannot be confered posthumously (i.e. Noble Prize can't be given to a person who is not alive today).

Besides there are dirty politics too in conferring the prizes.
Indeed a great loss for Nobel Foundation.
