They are both disgusting! I grew up in the Northeast where we had Dunkin' Donuts and lived in the South where Krispy Kreme was. Their standards were the same in both places--bad. As far as I'm concerned, Dunkin' Donuts taste like they've been soaked in oil--even the cake-like donuts. Krispy Kreme are so sweet even the Tooth Fairy gets cavities.
The person who wrote about them expanding is right. They were being sold all over the place where I live now--even though they had to be trucked in from where they were made 60 miles away. So much for fresh. It was recently announced that all their stores would be closing and further distributions to grocery stores, etc. would be stopped.
Dunkin' Donuts is expanding in the wrong direction, too. They're so busy selling wraps, sandwiches, breakfast foods, everything but dog biscuits (and after one stale twist I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't a preview of what's to come), that they've let their quality go down the tubes.
Where I live the best donuts are from a hole in the wall place called Kips. They're only open a few hours a day. When they sell our of the donuts they made that morning, they close. Their donuts may be a few pennies more, but their ingredients are of higher quality. It's the first commercial donut place I've been to that the yeast donuts and the yeast twists taste like the ones my mom made when I was a child.
Some people will settle for anything, I guess.

Sonny Dunkin Donuts has way better coffee, but you have to go with the Krispy Kreme for donuts (they are warm whats better than that)

Well, we don't have any Dunkin Donuts stores here. We have Krispy Creme, which are alright. I prefer Winchell's, they make an excellent plain cake donut. No frosting, no thingies to get in my coffee when I dunk.

everyone but yankees' are going to say Krispy Kreme. i personally vow myself to only eating KK. have you ever tried to eat a dunkin donut without coffee. dry like the desert. i am supprised more canadians are on here raving about tim hortons. KK is having trouble in that sales area. They got greedy and expanded to fast. like we do eating donuts. remember that news report about rats at dunkin donuts. Krispy Kreme is great cause you get to watch the donuts being made by machine. plus yeast is in everything thats good.

I like both to me they are both very different.
i like dunkin donuts for there cake like donuts but for the airy fluffy and warm ones i go to krispy creme
