she is currently 5 months pregnant and is in Mexico awaiting our Immigration Interview scheduled for December or January. She visited her Doctor today and was told the baby is positioned a bit lower than it should be. Her Doctor made some recommendations to avoid a premature baby, like bed rest and no stress?

What are the risks to her and the baby, the baby is perfectly fine, she had a detailed ultrasound and everything is ok.

Since the ultrasound says that everything is right, then why worry? Perhaps this is your first baby and therefore you are more anxious. You should ascertain rapid access to a doctor and to a hospital whenever required. Consider the cost factor, credentials of the hospital and the doctor and also the convenience.

Presently follow the doctors advice of bed rest and to avoid stress. Shifting her now to a different country at this stage of pregnancy will subject her to some degree of stress, due to change of place and the environment.

The best thing for your child would be to listen to the doctor. Like bed rest and no stress. You do not want the baby to be born right now, no matter how fine it looks.

It sounds like your Dr. told her the right things. As long as she follows his recommendations she should be fine. If the baby happened to come too early, then the medical technology in the US would probably be better, but as long as Mom and baby are healthy, and you have a trustworthy Dr., it doesn't matter where she receives her care. Good Luck.

I do not think your prenatal care would be any better in the U.S. The doctors in the US could not do any more for your wife. It sounds like she is doing great, just make sure she gets lots of rest and good nutritious food :)
