NO NO NO NO NO NO unless prescibed by your doctor. You need to make sure that it is safe for you and your baby to take them. Because sleeping pills are amphetamines they can raise your blood pressure. I recently found out the hard way. I went into preterm labor with my 4th child and was admitted to the hospital after finding out that my blood pressure was elevated. I was uncomfortable so one of the nurses(not my doctor) decided to give me Ambien to help me sleep. Well the next day my doc comes to me and asks me how I have amphetamines in my system...I was clueless and didn't think about it at the time....so he did another test 24 hours later and the same thing...all the while I was on medicine for my bp and it was still too elevated. I didn't have preclampsia so he was really concerned. The next night I started having chest pains... this resulted in many test and a emergency c-section. I was upset after having 3 vaginal deliveries. Please take my advice and talk to your doctor. I could have died if I hadn't trusted my instinct because they had offered me more Ambien without my doctors knowledge.

Luckily my baby was fine.

NO! This cannot be good for the baby. Ask your Dr. if you can take Benadryl, it often makes people sleepy. I had to take Benadryl when I was pregnant because I was having severe allergies, my Dr. prescribed it to me. Try to establish a daily routine and don't take naps during the day. Try going for an evening walk, just don't do it too close to bed-time. And try the old warm milk method, it might help. But make sure you don't soak in a hot bubble bath, getting too hot is bad for baby.

I don't think so. You might try some relaxing exercises or make a ritual out of going to bed to help you sleep, but not sleeping pills.

NO. Try a turkey sandwich with onion and a warm glass of milk after a nice long soak in a tub with lavender bubble bath.

No, it is not safe to take sleeping pills because it affects your baby.
