First, IF YOU CANNOT GET HIS FEVER DOWN CALL AN AMBULANCE!!

Strip him of all his clothes and give him a lukewarm bath (not too hot and not too cold). Put a cool cloth on his head and give him LOTS of fluids. If the Tylenol will not bring his fever down, you need to take him to the nearest hospital! Once his temp reaches 107 brain damage can occur (I know because that's what a doc told me when my little one had a temp of 105).

The health of your son should come first, transportation or not. If you don't have family or friends near call a local church for help- someone will surely give you a ride and if his health is in danger, the ER will treat him money or not.

I'm not sure where you are located but if you have 24 hour pharamacies in your area like Wal-Greens or such you can ask them what kind of over the counter medicines you can give your child and the doses, just ask to speak to a pharmacist. Another thing you can do, is instead of bathing a child in water, you can take a towel and run very warm water over it, wring it so that the water isn't dripping from it, and let it hang from the back of your child's head as you are holding him. The towel will eventually cool him off, if you let it stay on him for about 10 min. And make sure that you give him plenty to drink so that he does not become dehydrated. If he won't drink anything, give him popsicles. The coolness from the popsicles will bring the fever down some too. If all else fails, you need to take him to the hospital. The others on here that said that the hospital CANNOT turn you away is correct. By law, they are required to treat your child whether you have the ability to pay or not. Oh yeah before I forget, the reason I said warm towels is because if you put something that is cold directly on someone with a temp like that, they can go into shock. Good Luck!

Call for an ambulance! Do it RIGHT NOW! If he has a temperature of 104 degrees F, then he can become brain-damaged in no time at all. You had better do something and it had better be fast! CAll for an ambulance!

get off the computer and call an ambulance now. doesn't matter if you've already used one twice this week. that is way to high of a temp. he can seizure. put cold compressions on him while you wait on the back of his neck and forehead. hurry!

money should not be an issue. find a county facitity or make a payment plan w/ the hospital afterwards.

I'm so sorry, but he needs to go to the hospital right now. The temp of 104 is a matter of minutes before serious damage or even death.

ambulance service can also give advice over the phone without coming out to you, cool bath - NOT COLD, and if you do use the ice bag someone else suggested, make sure its wrapped in a cloth - NEVER EVER put an ice bag or even ice directly onto a child's skin.

Roger that..is right. Put him in a luke warm bath and take a cup or wash cloth and keep the water on him espically underarms and his head , since head holds heat. If it doesn't go down you need to get him to Emergency room. I always did that with my kids. Also give him somthing cool to drink.

You can try to bring down his temperature by soaking 2 hankerchieves in egg white and then wrapped them around the soles of his feet and then put socks on his feet.
