It's all those hormones acting up. I have had a complete hysterectomy and am going through hot flashes and sweats. My doctor does not want me on hormone replacement, so I take Valerian root to help me sleep and calm me down. It does not make me feel dopey the next day. It takes about 2 weeks before they get into your system. They really have a foul smell, so be prepared if you buy them. I can't sleep for long even after I take the Valerian, so I get on the computer or do find a word puzzles. I love not having that monthly cycle, but the hot flashes really kill me. Not being able to sleep is really a worry, too, and the doctor won't give me anything to help.

You should get to the doctor and get checked out. Your hormones are out of balance and he can help with the right medication. Once the meds kick in you will start feeling better.

Your Estrogen levels are dropping and the hormone imbalance messes with pretty much everything in your body! Its not you going nuts.
See your OB/GYN and see about hormone replacement therapy.
