hi anoop!
my answer is: THE HEN because a hen can lay eggs without a rooster. An egg can't be egg without a host/mother.
Just like Adam and Eve.
God created them instantly as adults, same goes to a hen.
I hope this clear your mind now.

Although I am still confused about what to answer, I am giving my logical explanantion (Hey I am not a brainstormer deluxe or something - so dont roll your eyes if you find my 'logic' stupid)

supporting hen:
This is possible as earlier when species must have evolved from single cells, they must at some point become hen.

But the same thing somewhat supports the egg too. The cells might have turned into an egg or something biological like that.

But still my answer is hen because I think its more likely,

Obviously anoop, this is one famous thing called chicken - egg paradox as u might be knowing. This question can be answered from a biological point of view. Long long ago, millions of yrs ago, there was this hot body of oceans. Every single water body in the earth was piping hot. This provided a good medium for the growth of bacteria naturally. so it so hapens that, single celled bacteria begin to rapidly mutate. This can be made in a lab too. One of the resuls of this kind of mutation ws the formation of the egg. Now the nomber of chromosomes and all depends on the type of mutation which is highly unpredictable. This may result in the formaton of humzns and other like animals.Origin of life studies is a limited field of research despite its profound impact on biology and human understanding of the natural world. Progress in this field is generally slow and sporadic, though it still draws the attention of many due to the eminence of the question being investigated. A few facts give insight into the conditions in which life may have emerged, but the mechanisms by which non-life became life are still elusive.

Obviously the egg. The egg could have emerged from a more primitive form of life from its collection of cells and by genetic mutations. The first few hens must have developed that way. Again by some mutations both female and male varieties could have emerged and later produced the eggs by themselves at a much much faster rate, producing a new species of animal.

It depends on what your preferred philosophy or principle is, creation or evolution.

In creation, according to the bible, everything was created and was commanded to multiply. Hence, the hen, and the rooster was created first . Of course, there was no mention of the animals created in pairs, just a collective word "all living things". Even during the great deluge, Noah has collected pairs of every creature, and has not collected their eggs or babies, except his immediate family. Of course, in the philosphy of creation, there was no evolution, and therefore, the multiplication was in the method we know today, by laying eggs and hatching the eggs. Therefore, the hen and the rooster came ahead of the egg.

On the other hand, on the principle of Darwin's theory of evolution, all things started from scratch or minute particles. Then, this evolved and grew into something that adapted to its environment. Accordingly, from this theory, egg came first, from cells, and has evolved into different species that came from egg, depending on the environment where they had evolved. Even men, and women, according to this theory, did not come from the womb of a mother but has evolved. Therefore, basing on Darwinian's theory of evolution, egg came first.

So, what came first, chicken or egg? It depends on your mindset.

The answer is Egg. Egg ( unfertilised) is an unicellular organism. Hen is a multicellular organism.Only a unicellular organism can lead to a multicellular organism ( see cell division, mitosis, meyosis ) and not vice versa. If u beleive in evolution , origin of life etc this logic is scientifically correct
