She may even have a fantastic marriage...yet she seeks it outside why. I am not asking for a moral judgment, I am trying to make an un-judgmental and even sympathetic analysis

Women cheat usually for very different reasons than men. It usually has something to do with attention (or lack thereof) and feeling loved. A man who is a friend can make a woman feel appreciated, respected, and lots of stuff that her partner might forget to do regularly.

Well, I think for the same reasons that a man does. From the women perspective, of course.
I think it's temptation. And flattery. And not being satisfied for _some_ reason with her marriage (with some people, men and women, there is always a reason to be dissatisfied with a marriage, even if it does happen to be fantastic).

In some cases, it may be for an old flame. Or to score another mark. Or for unexplainable circumstances that occur in each person's life, and each person has to decide whether to yield to the temptation or not. (I have heard that people, as they age, regret the chances that they didn't take more than the ones they did.)
Plenty of reasons. And I do believe they apply to both men and women.

Well,I am not in agreement with your statement. The adultery is an act which is equally applicable to males and female. You cannot say that only women commit adultery. Men are more keen to commit adultery given a chance. Not all commit adultery. Those who commit adultery are mentally insecure and not happy in their marriage which may be due to several factorswhich need to be anlysed seperately. The fact is that either of the gender may get mislead if their marital relationship is souring. So to avoid this it must be ensured that the relationship is nurtured right from the begining and rejuvenated from time to time to have a healthy and exemplary marriage and avoid chance of either of the two taking shelter of ADULTERY.

Some scientists say women can't help it. While they select a mate on the grounds of being a provider [warm house, food, security] they select a sexual partner for offspring from physical appearance, strength to make good strong breeding stock.

So why good old reliable hubby is out providing she's humping the local stud.

They say that as many as 1 in 5 children are not the Fathers.

A woman commits adultery coz the husband can't meet her expectations. Could be that she's no longer in love and happy with him.

Or she could be those type who is like an adventurous person. The same applies to men.

Well lack of attention, boredom, sexual dissatisfaction and a very busy and succesful husband are the prime reasons.

All marriages at a later stage tends to waiver a bit and this is the time a man and women may go astray

There are many reasons. some are, perhaps she is bored with the kind of sex she is getting from her husband. Perhaps it is the thrill of trying to get away with it. Perhaps the other guy is giving her something different that she craves that her husband isn't. Perhaps she seeks variety. Maybe she has other sexual needs that her husband is unwilling to do with her. These are just a few examples. I'm sure there are other reasons. Or perhaps it is a woman that she seeks to make love with.

For many of the same reasons that men do it.
This is something thats been happening since
ancient times. Some feel they are not getting
the affection they need,or they are not in love.
The reasons may vary.
This question is very complicated, and women
do it as much as men do it.
It's sad,yet it's true.

I worked with a woman who left her husband for another man. She told me it was the most exciting thing she'd ever done - she loved all the sneaking around, etc. So boredom would be one suggestion.
In my opinion, actually, it's a lack of moral fibre. - I liked her, but it was as though it was a game in which people didn't feel anything. She was very selfish.
