I went to a cc for two years, got an AA degree and then transferred all my credits to the main state universty and got a BA. I am starting my Master's now, and my time at the community college was not a problem at any step along the way. I learned alot, saved a ton of money, and had opportunities that I wouldn't have had at a bigger school. I was president of my student body at the Community College. That kind of opportunity is great for a resume and as a confidence builder when you start at a big school. I have absolutly no regrets. Don't listen to those people, I know what they are like, and they just don't have a clue.

There is nothing wrong with community colleges, in fact, there's many advantages to them. Assuming a 4 year degree is your goal, a community college will get you through the first 2 years with far less expense than a traditional university. After your 2 years is complete, you can transfer to a 4 year university, graduate from the 4 year university, and no employer is ever going to know you even went to a community college, much less care. In many cases, community college education is superior, because class sizes tend to be smaller, and students receive more individual attention. I don't know why anyone would look down on you unless they're jerks.

Because they're stupid. Some people think that if you don't go to an ivy league college, you are beneath them. I think it's great that you're going to a community college and saving money and probably learning at least as much, if not more, as most of those snobs.
